BioLong believed to have been slain at the Battle of Lammoth, Argon knows little concerning his survival. Indeed, his own father was so mystified by the unnatural "re-embodiment" of his son that he kept him confined for many years, observing his erratic temperament and moments of confusion. The loss of memory seemed an ill thing indeed to the Eldar, to whom memory is both a talent and a precious gift.
After Fingolfin's death, Fingon took over the care of his brother, and followed his father's wishes that Argon's indentity be kept secret. Seeking to restore his brother's physical health, Fingon taught and trained him until Argon became a formidable swordsman. In the year of the Nirnaeth Arnoediad, Argon fought with his brother's forces; after Fingon's death, fearing no one would recognize the truth of his indentity, he revealed himself to his brother Turgon and returned with him to Gondolin.
But Argon remained unpredictable in mood and behaviour, and Turgon too kept him hidden under close watch. Yet the two are so alike in face - and Argon proved to be a gifted mimic - that Turgon would invite his brother to pose as the King of Gondolin while he himself left the city, seeking out the Eagles of Manwe that they might bring the pleas of the Exiles to the Valar.
Argon is married to the sister of Glorfindel, Lady Tindariel, who was recently chosen to be Queen Regent in Gondolin's first election.
